Some Ghanaian Dishes You Need to Try This Heritage Month

 


Ghana is one of the few African countries which is blessed with fertile lands across its 16 regions.


The country can boast of lands that produce rich and quality food stuffs such as yam, cassava, cocoyam, tomatoes, onion, pepper amongst others.

These food stuffs when brought together make sumptuous meals which will make you bite your fingers. Ghanaian main dishes are organized around a starchy staple food, which goes with a sauce or soup containing a protein source.

Some of the dishes you will enjoy when you visit the Ashanti, Eastern, Bono, Central, Ahafo and Western North regions include fufu or konkonte with palmnut,light or groundnut soup, ampesi with kontomire or Garden eggs stew, mpoto mpoto, etew with fante fante amongst.

One will also enjoy Ga kenkey with pepper and fish, banku or apkle with okro soup, abolo and Yake yake when they visit the Greater Accra and Volta, Oti Regions Respectively. You can never visit any of the regions in the Northern sector and not enjoy their mouth watery tuozafi and ayoyo soup, Tubaani, koko and kose etc.
